Privacy policy

This policy explains how the business operating Moxtronic (“Moxtronic”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you browse, contact us, or place an order.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, email, phone number, delivery address, order details, contact messages, and any order reference you include. For Moxtronic AUTO enquiries and orders, this can include a vehicle identification number (VIN), Japanese chassis or frame code, and vehicle details used to check compatibility. Stripe processes payment details; Moxtronic does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

We also receive limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as IP-derived anti-abuse identifiers, browser information, request logs, chosen country/currency, and cart contents stored in your browser. VINs entered in the AUTO discovery decoder are not stored in browser storage by Moxtronic.

Why we use it

We use personal information to provide checkout, check vehicle compatibility, verify supplier availability and freight, process and fulfil orders, arrange delivery, answer enquiries, handle returns and legal requests, prevent fraud and abuse, keep business records, and comply with law. We do not currently sell personal information or use third-party behavioural advertising on this site.

Who receives it

We share only what is reasonably needed with service providers such as Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for site infrastructure and email routing, the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vPIC service when you ask us to decode a VIN, and the relevant product supplier and logistics providers for verification and fulfilment. Suppliers may need the VIN or chassis reference and the recipient’s name, phone number, and delivery address.

Some providers and suppliers operate outside Australia, including in the United States, Japan, Thailand, and China, and information may be processed in other countries relevant to verification or fulfilment. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and disclosure to protect personal information.

Storage and retention

Order and contact records are stored in access-controlled systems. VIN and chassis values required for an AUTO order stay in Moxtronic’s order database; Stripe receives only an opaque checkout reference, not the VIN or chassis value in payment metadata. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for fulfilment, support, fraud prevention, accounting, disputes, and legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it where practical.

Cookies and local storage

The storefront uses browser storage for essential functions such as your bag and country/currency choice. Cloudflare and Stripe may use necessary security and checkout technologies under their own policies. You can clear local storage in your browser, but doing so may empty your bag and reset preferences.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold, request deletion where applicable, or raise a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law or a legitimate record-keeping need requires it.

Email privacy@moxtronic.co or use the contact form. We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
